Brief History:


The college was started in June 1984 with only 24 students in +2 Arts and Science 1st Year, The College is named as “Biswasray Science College” because the Biswasray family is the highest donor among others till now. Due to sincere effort of Late Kailash Chandra Padhy, Headmaster, Pattapur Boys’ Highschool, the college was born and the sympathetic attitude of the staff and managing committee of Boys’ Highschool, the college was stood and later on got name and fame in the area. The college started under the presidentship of Umakanta Padhy, Secretary Sri Pramod Kumar Padhy and Principal Sri Krishna Chandra Sabata along with other governing body members.

The college got recognition from the government and affiliation from CHSE in the year 1986 for the session 1985-86. Later on the college became a degree college by getting recognition from the government and affiliation from the University since 1990. The college is situated at the end of Pattapur, near the Boys’ Highschool. It is the Block Headquarter College of Sankhemundi Block. +2 wing of the college received permanent recognition and affiliation from government and CHSE since 1991, +3 wing also got permanent recognition and affiliation from government and University since 2003-04.

OUR COLLEGE CREST

The corn at the top left and fish at the top right symbolizes the economic support to the physical existence of our institution while the book at the center opens the gateway of learning and wisdom, the science apparatus emphasizes the specialization in science. The Upanishadic invocation inscribed at the center of the crest expresses the eternal longing – “Lead me from darkness to light.” The lamp at the base signifies enlightening flame of wisdom, the attainment of which is the goal of every institution.
